Development of the Microstructure and Properties of Steel Multilayer Materials Using an Innovative Integrated Hot-Rolling Technology with Controlled Cooling and Isothermal Holding
Streszczenie:
Abstract: This paper presents the results of research aimed at developing an innovative technology for manufacturing three-layer steel clad plates using an integrated process of hot rolling, controlled cooling, and isothermal holding. The subject of the study was H600/NANOS-BA®/H600 three-layered steel products, in which the synergistic interaction of layers with different microstructures and mechanical properties was utilized. The study involved numerical simulations of phase transformations and experimental investigations conducted under semi-industrial conditions. Particular attention was paid to the effects of cooling and isothermal holding parameters on microstructural development and hardness distribution across the material cross-section. The authors demonstrated the feasibility of obtaining a durable bond between the layers, free from cracks, delaminations, and other macrostructural and microstructural discontinuities, while enabling the tailoring of mechanical properties. The results confirm the high potential of the developed technology for ballistic applications.
